A new species, Zercon
kastamonuensis sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on female
specimens collected from Kastamonu, Turkey. The new species is closely related
to Z. hispanicus Sellnick, 1958, Z. lepurus Błaszak, 1979 and Z. osmaneliensis Urhan, 2008. The
similarities and differences between related species within the same genus are
also discussed. Additionally, a key to species of the genus Zercon known from Turkey is given.
