Abstract
The relationship between literature and medicine is mostly based on the extent to which physiological disorders take place in literary texts and how they are handled. In addition, the works of writers and poets whose profession is medicine can also be discussed in terms of how much they reflect their medical attention from time to time. It is known that Sabri Esat [Siyavuşgil], one of the leading names of the Yedi Meşaleciler, advanced in the field of psychology after his short-term poetry and even gave lectures as a psychology professor at Istanbul University. Although psychology is not directly a part of medicine, it can be considered as one of the cultural sciences that is most closely related to it. It is thought that one of the basic elements that directs the poems of Sabri Esat, who has created a unique image world while reflecting the views of the Yedi Meşaleciler, is psychological impressions and these impressions are sometimes expressed in medical terms and situations. In this study, Sabri Esat, who continued to write on various cultural issues after he stopped writing poetry, will be examined based on the author's books Yedi Meşale, Odalar ve Sofalar and some periodicals like Meşale during his activity period; with the attention that is thought to come from psychology, the function and connotation values of some medical terms, concepts and situations in the literary text constructing the will be emphasized.
