Some of the masnawis belonging to Turkish classical literature tradition were written under the influence of samples in Iranian literature. The fact that some classical Turkish literature poets translated or interpreted the Persian masnawis, and again wrote commentaries on these masnawis, clearly shows the influence in question. Among the masnawis translated from Persian to Turkish, the number of those who contain religious, sufi and morality issues is decidedly high. Turkish classical literature is significant for the understanding of the proper relationship between sufism and classical Turkish poetry and for revealing the decency of the works translated from classical Iranian literature into Turkish.
