Abstract

Since the human resource in the production process is affected by the changes in both the work environment and the social environment, this interaction can also affect their happiness levels and productivity. For this reason, in this study, the relationship between labor productivity and happiness was examined by panel data analysis in a sample of 35 OECD countries with the annual data set for the 2015-2021 period. In the research model, labor productivity was taken as the dependent variable, the happiness index as the independent variable, and the average annual wage as the control variable. According to the findings obtained from the estimation results of the Driscoll-Kray analysis, it has been determined that a one-unit increase in the level of happiness can increase labor productivity by approximately 2.2%. In addition, it has been concluded that a one-unit increase in average annual wages can increase labor productivity by 0.001%.
