Abstract
Bu yazıda, Türkiye'deki akademik eleştiri kültürünün eksiklikleri ve bu durumun nedenleri analiz edilmektedir. Bilimin temel işlevlerinden biri olan sorgulama ve tartışma pratiğinin, Türkiye eğitim akademisinde yeterince gelişmediği ifade edilmektedir. Eleştiri kültüründeki bu zayıflık, yetkinlik eksikliği, devlet baskısı, öğrenilmiş çaresizlik, politik ayrışmalar ve ekonomik kaygılar gibi 20 başlık altında ele alınmıştır. Akademinin, eleştirel bir dost rolünü benimseyerek tartışma kültürünü yeniden canlandırması gerektiği ve bunun hem akademik hem de toplumsal ilerleme için önemli olduğu vurgulanmaktadır.
Abstract
This article analyzes the deficiencies in the culture of academic criticism in Turkey and examines the reasons behind this issue. It is argued that the practice of inquiry and debate, one of the fundamental functions of science, has not sufficiently developed within Turkey’s education academy. This weakness in the culture of criticism is addressed under 20 themes, including a lack of competence, state pressure, learned helplessness, political polarization, and economic concerns. The article emphasizes that academia must adopt a critical yet friendly role to revive the culture of debate, which is essential for both academic and societal progress.
