Covid-19 Pandemia: Nutrition Recommendations For Quarantıne

Year 2020, Issue: Special Issue on COVID 19, 124 - 129, 20.03.2020

Abstract

Quarantine application, which is a protective method in reducing the spread of the virus, with a strong immune system, is extremely important in protecting against Covid-19. Quarantine affects individuals' mood, and their mood affects their nutritional status. Increased time spent at home, pandemic news that is constantly listened and watched, increased anxiety, increased desire to consume food (especially carbohydrate foods) due to mood and decreased physical activity can cause unwanted increases in body weight. It is necessary to behave correctly in nutrition, both in order to maintain weight control and to maintain immunity. It is important to stay away from refined ready-to-eat foods and comply with a low-saturated fat diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables and whole-grain products that form the basis of the Mediterranean diet. In addition, the consumption of antioxidant vitamins, vitamin D, omega 3, zinc, pre and probiotics, which are known to have positive effects on the immune system, should be considered in daily nutrition.

Covid-19 Pandemisi: Karantina İçin Beslenme Önerileri

Year 2020, Issue: Special Issue on COVID 19, 124 - 129, 20.03.2020
