MEDİAL AYAK AĞRISI NEDENİ: AKSESUAR NAVİKÜLER KEMİK

Year 2021, Volume: 7 Issue: 3, 293 - 299, 13.10.2021

Abstract

Aksesuar naviküler kemik genellikle asemptomatik seyreden, özellikle ayağın inversiyon travması sonucu semptomatik olabilen anatomik bir varyasyondur. Prevelansı % 4-21 olarak bildirilmiştir. Ayak ağrısı nedeniyle polikliniğimize başvurmuş ve aksesuar naviküler kemik saptanan bir olguyu sunmayı amaçladık. Elli sekiz yaşında kadın hasta, sol ayak medial bölümünde ağrı ve şişlik yakınmasıyla polikliniğimize başvurdu. Hastanın şikayetlerinin yaklaşık 1 yıldır devam ettiği ve ağrısının istirahatle düzeldiği yürümekle şiddetlendiği öğrenildi. Kas iskelet sistemi muayenesinde; sol ayak medial tarafında hafif ödem ve medial malleol inferioru ile naviküler bölge arasında palpasyonla hassasiyet mevcuttu. Olgumuzun bilgisayarlı tomografi incelemesinde aksesuar naviküler kemik saptandı. Ayak medialinde ağrı şikayeti ile başvuran olguların ayırıcı tanısında aksesuar naviküler kemik düşünülmelidir.

A CAUSE OF MEDIAL FOOT PAIN: ACCESSORY NAVICULAR BONE

Year 2021, Volume: 7 Issue: 3, 293 - 299, 13.10.2021

Abstract

The accessory navicular bone is an anatomic variation that is usually asymptomatic. It can be symptomatic, mainly due to inversion trauma of the foot. Its prevalence has been reported as 4-21%. We aimed to present a case who was admitted to our outpatient clinic with foot pain and found to have an accessory navicular bone. A 58-year-old female patient referred to our outpatient clinic with pain and swelling in the left foot's medial part. The patient's complaints had continued for about one year, and her pain resolved with rest and aggravated by walking. In the musculoskeletal examination, there was mild edema on the medial side of the left foot and tenderness with palpation between the medial malleolus inferior and the navicular region. Accessory navicular bone was determined in the computed tomography examination of our case. Therefore, the accessory navicular bone should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cases admitted with pain in the medial side of the foot.
