COVID-19 PANDEMİSİ VE HEMŞİRELİK MESLEĞİNE YANSIMALARI

Abstract

Covid-19, Çin’in Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkıp kısa sürede tüm dünyaya yayılan ve şiddetli akut solunum sendromu ve pnömoniye sebep olan bir virüstür. Covid-19, Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından neredeyse tüm dünyaya yayılması ve binlerce insanda görülmesi ve binlerce insanın yaşamını yitirmesine neden olmasıyla pandemi ilan edildi. Covid-19 yayıldıkça sağlık ve hastane kaynaklarına daha çok acil olarak ihtiyaç duyulacağı tahmin edilmektedir. Çok sayıda hastanın çok kısa sürede enfekte olup özellikle yoğun bakım gereksinimlerinin ortaya çıkması hemşireliğin temel amacı olan “bakım” kavramının önemini ortaya çıktı. Toplumsal bir gereksinim nedeniyle “hemşirelik mesleği” gündeme geldi. Hemşireler COVID-19 müdahalesiyle ön cephede savaşan sağlık profesyonelidir ve uygun destekle salgının sonlanmasında kilit oyuncular olacaktır. Bu yazıda Covid-19 pandemisinin sağlık sektörü üyelerinden sayıca en fazla olan grubu oluşturan hemşirelerin mesleğine yansımaklarından bahsetmek amaçlandı.
