Abstract

Professor Doctor Zafer Bayburtluoğlu was born in Şebinkarahisar district of Giresun on August 30, 1945. He graduated Faculty of Language History and Geography, Ankara University, in 1968. He took part in numerous excavations. He was in charge of general directorate for foundations in the department of monument and construction. He completed his PhD entitled ‘’Front Facade System in a Great Programmed Structures of Anatolian Seljuk Period’’ in 1972. He worked as a research assistant at Atatürk University, Faculty of Arts, Department of Art History in 1977. He became an associate professor in 1982, and full Professor in 1989. He was nominated the deanship in Faculty of Fine Arts, Erciyes University, in 1993. Professor Doctor Zafer Bayburtluoğlu was married and had two children. He died on November 19, 2001. He had served Turkish Art History, and he academically contributed to the field of art and architecture of Anatolian Seljuk with his seminars, conferences and publications.

Abstract

Prof.Dr. Zafer Bayburtluoğlu, 30 Ağustos 1945 yılında Giresun ilinin
Şebinkarahisar İlçesinde doğdu. 1968 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve
Tarih Coğrafya Fakültesi Sanat Tarihi Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Çeşitli
kazılara katıldı. Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü Abide ve Yapı İşleri Dairesinde
görev aldı. “Anadolu Selçuklu Devri Büyük Programlı Yapılarında Önyüz
Düzeni” konulu doktora çalışmasını 1972 yılında tamamladı. 1977 yılında
Atatürk Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Sanat Tarihi Bölümüne asistan olarak
girdi. 1982 yılında Doçent, 1989 yılında Profesörlüğe yükseldi. 1993 yılında
Erciyes Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi kurucu Dekanlığı görevine
atandı. Evli ve iki çocuk babası Prof.Dr. Zafer BAYBURTLUOĞLU, 2001
yılı 19 Kasım’ında aramızdan ayrıldı. Anadolu Selçuklu Sanatı ve mimarlık
konusundaki çalışmaları ve yayınladığı eserler ile Türk Sanat Tarihine hizmet
etmiştir.
