Araştırmanın amacı, müzik eğitiminde modal dizilerin, makamsal ve tonal dizilere göre müzik eserlerinin dizi ve karar tonlarını belirlemedeki rolünü ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2018-2019 öğretim yılı Gazi Üniversitesi Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü Müzik Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı güz dönemi son sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi olan durum çalışması tipi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilere işitsel ve görsel testler uygulanmıştır.
The aim of the research is that students studying in vocational music education; to determine auditory and visual recognition levels of microtonal, modal and tonal scales. Tests used to measure students' mastery of microtonal, modal and tonal scales were developed by reviewing literature and taking expert opinions. The success of the students in recognizing microtonal, modal and tonal scales was measured by applying these auditory and visual tests to the last year students of the 2018-2019 academic year, Gazi University, Gazi Education Faculty, Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Music Education, which constitutes the study group of the research. It was observed that the students in the research group were less competent in recognizing modal scales than tonal and microtonal scales, on the side that they compared the modal scale sample works they listened to to the closest microtonal scales. The importance of recognizing the modal scales in scale education in recognizing the scale structure of the piece, voicing different types of music, transferring it to its notation with the right key, playing with Turkish and Western instruments, and recreating different types of musical pieces using similar/akin scales has been emphasized.
