Abstract
The primary purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the effectiveness and performance indicators of Education and Research Hospitals in Turkey for 2017. In the research, the full count method was applied, no sampling was done and the whole population was reached. The research was carried out on 56 training and research hospitals in total. From the data of the hospitals for 2017; The number of physicians, number of beds and number of nurses-midwives as input variables; The number of examinations, the number of inpatients, the number of weighted surgeries, bed occupancy rate, bed turnover rate and average hospitalization day were evaluated and analyzed as output variables. In the study, data envelopment analysis was used to measure the efficiency of hospitals, and COPRAS and ARAS methods, which are multi-criteria decision making methods, were used to rank their performances. According to the results of the data envelopment analysis, it was seen that 41.07% of the hospitals were effective, and 58.93% were ineffective. In addition, 58.93% of the hospitals were found to have excess or deficiency in their input and output, which would negatively affect the efficiency level. In the performance ranking made by COPRAS and ARAS methods, it was seen that the performance of some ineffective hospitals was high. On the other hand, it has been determined that the performance of some active hospitals is low. Therefore, it has been concluded that not every active hospital is at the forefront of performance evaluation and that not every inactive hospital is at the bottom.
