Abū Nuwās (d. 198/813 [?]), who gained competence in almost every field of classical Ara-bic literature, is one of the important representatives of the innovative movement in literature. In particular, he produced literary and oral products for mucûn (obscene), hamriyyat (wine) and humor. He is also a strange personality who has trained himself in the field of Islamic sciences. Abū Nuwās represents the spirit of the period in which he lived, with all his shortcomings and features. He is the primary or secondary character of every story about the different themes and typologies he conveys. His sharp-tongued and out-of-the-box personality made him to be accu-sed for both creed and politics. The poet, who criticized the tradition of poetry until the time he lived, continued to insist that this style should be changed throughout his life. The idea of ma-king changes not only in the style but also in the words and meanings, who is frequently mentio-ned with his fribble personality, is frequently included in poetry criticism sources. The use of Persian as a literary language in the Ottoman period and the literature sharing of Arab-Persian-Turkish literatures in a triple interaction showed itself not only in positive themes but also in negative contents such as mucûn. Considering that the representative of this ecole is Abū Nuwās, it is unthinkable that Turkish literature was not influenced by the poet in question. So much so that the marginals of the period such as Zâtî and Sürûrî used the style of Abu Nuvas and also quoted him. This research will try to draw a profile of Abū Nuwās in minds, based on the narra-tions and rumors about him rather than the poems of Abu Nuwas. Because, even if the subject is negative, the art presented is remarkable in terms of both classical Arabic literature and Turkish literature. In this research, a mutual evaluation will be made between Arabic and Turkish litera-tures and the role of Abū Nuwās in this interaction will be evaluated. Within the framework of the outstanding examples of these two literatures, the poet's literary personality, his doctrinal structure and the accusations he has been subjected to will be tried to be revealed by subjecting the relevant literature to a serious review.
