As among the basic human needs in the continuity of human life, it is seen that food and beverage are symbolically attributed to different meanings by communities around the world. For instance, the olive and olive trees are common symbols representing peace, purity, and wisdom. An apple is also one of the frequently met foods attributing different symbolical meanings, and it is one of the most common fruits across the world. Apples are produced in several countries around the world. Together with their geographical prevalence, in the mythologies and expressions of several cultures, different symbolical meanings carried by the apple and apple tree are also commonly observed throughout several cultures. Due to a Torah-based religious story that states an apple is a forbidden fruit, which led Adam and Eve to get kicked out of heaven, and therefore it was considered that the apple and the apple tree were included in heaven. It is seen that the apple has deeper meanings than other fruits, and this qualifies the apple as holy to several cultures. In Greek mythology, it is seen that the golden apple is given as a prize in the wedding, beauty contest. The fact that the apple is golden in these narratives makes it different from other fruits. Together with mythological narratives, the apple is frequently used, particularly in epics, tales and folk stories in Turkish culture as well, and is seen symbolically with different meanings. It is stated in mythological studies that the apple tree is seen differently among other tree species, especially in Turkish culture, where it is seen as a sacred tree. In this study, the meanings of the apple and the apple tree as a symbol in the tales of Kyrgyz tales “Karaç Baatır, Altın Kuş, Obozgerdin Kızı, Talkamış, Hanın Oğlu and İki Erkek Kardeş” are emphasized. The similarities and differences of these symbolic meaning features with the symbolic meaning features of the apple and apple tree in various narratives formed in the Anatolian field were examined, ıt has been tried to determine to what extent these symbolic meaning features formed in the Anatolian field are included in the Kyrgyz tales. Thus, the symbolic meanings of apple and apple tree in both Anatolian field narratives and tales, which are an important product of the Kyrgyz oral tradition, and the common thinking and perception of Turkish people against these symbols even in different geographies have been determined, ıt has been emphasized that the symbolic meanings of the apple and apple tree are extremely important in the classification of the tales of the Turkish World from different perspectives and in determining the motif frame of these tales.
