Alternative wastewater treatment methods are developed in recent years. One elimination method of heavy metals from the waste water is the adsorption of heavy metals. Cr (VI) is a heavy metal which is cause of water pollution and toxic effect on the living structures. In this study, the adsorption of Cr (VI) and removal of other polluted parameters was researched using natural adsorbents as clinoptilolite, activated clinoptilolite with acid. The study consists of two experimental parts. In the first part, principal factors affecting the adsorption were investigated. Suitable mix rate, pH, particular size of adsorbent, concentration, amount of adsorbent, temperature were invented and the optimum conditions were determined for chromium (VI) solutions. In the second part, adsorption tests were done with waste water under pre-determined optimum conditions for the adsorbents. Experimental studies were taken place on removal of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), SS (Suspend Solid), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) and chromium (VI) from composite sample of the tannery waste water. The outputs of adsorption using clinoptilolite and activated clinoptilolite for COD, SS, BOİ and chromium(VI) respectively about %50, %55, %33, %80 was obtained
