Investigation of the Acute Effect of Dry Cup Application on Some Performance Parameters in Young Kickboxers

Abstract
Purpose: Dry cup application is used in many sports branches to increase blood circulation and reduce pain due to the effect of heat and negative pressure. Our aim in this study is to investigate the effect of dry cup application applied to the hamstring muscle of kickboxers on muscle strength, balance and normal range of motion.
Method: Eleven kickboxers aged between 13-17 were included in the study. After a 10-minute warm-up, the athletes' static balance, vertical jump, strength and normal joint movement measurements were taken. After 15 minutes of dry cup application, the measurements were repeated.
Results: When the measurements before and after the application were compared, it was seen that the static balance, vertical jump, strength and normal joint movement post-test measurements of the athletes showed statistically significant improvement compared to the pre-test measurements (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Although the increase in the muscle strength, balance and normal range of motion of the athletes is very valuable; it is thought that there searches should continue with different cup applications, in different sports branches and with more participants.

Genç Kick Boksçularda Kuru Kupa Uygulamasının Bazı Performans Parametreleri Üzerine Akut Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Abstract
Amaç: Kuru kupa uygulaması ısı ve negatif basınç etkisi sebebiyle birçok spor branşında kan dolaşımını arttırmak ve ağrıyı azaltmak amacıyla kullanılmaktadır. Bizim de bu çalışmadaki amacımız kick boks sporcularının hamstring kasına uygulanan kuru kupa uygulamasının kas kuvveti, denge ve normal eklem hareket açıklığına etkisini araştırmaktır.
Yöntem: Çalışmaya yaşları 13-17 arasında değişen 11 kick boks sporcusu dahil edilmiştir. 10 dakikalık genel bir ısınmadan sonra sporcuların statik denge, dikey sıçrama, kuvvet ve normal eklem hareket ölçümleri alınmıştır. 15 dakika kuru kupa uygulaması uygulandıktan sonra ölçümler tekrar edilmiştir.
Bulgular: Uygulama öncesi ve sonrası ölçümler karşılaştırıldığında sporcuların statik denge, dikey sıçrama, kuvvet ve normal eklem hareketi son test ölçümlerinin ön test ölçümlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede gelişim gösterdiği görülmüştür (p<0,05).
Sonuç: Sporcuların kas kuvveti, denge ve normal eklem hareket açıklığı değerlerindeki artış çok değerli olsa da; farklı kupa uygulamalarıyla, farklı spor dallarında ve daha fazla katılımcıyla araştırmaların devam etmesi gerektiği düşünülmektedir.
