Watershed is the territorial field which is separate from each other hydrologically, forming water’s
natural borders, on which, water continues its surficial movement. In the phase of planning and managing the
water, the hierarchal structure (main river watershed, subwatershed), borders and qualities of these territorial
fields are quite important. In this study, the borders of Kovado Lake Watershed were defined with the Arc Hydro
Module. This method intends to reach the watershed borders in 10 phases (DEM reconditioning, Fill sink, Flow
direction, Flow Accumulation, Stream Defination, Strean Segmentaition, Catchment Grid Delination, Catchment
Polygon Processing, Drainage Line Processing, Drainage Point Processing). The analysis results concerning
the Arc Hydro Module shows that Kovada Lake and Eğirdir Lake are located in the same subwatersheds
systems. In this case Kovada Lake Subwatershed should be considered as one of the subwatershed of Eğirdir
Lake Subwatershed
Kovada Lake Subwatershed has approximately 184.410.000 m2 area, 214.800 m circumference. It also has 13
water gathering areas, 13 drainage points. The total length of the drainage networks are 77.489 m. The Arc
Hydro Module helped to reach quite important results in gaining the basic data (watershed border, drainage
system, etc.) about the watershed.
