Eğitim Yapılarında Ahşap Malzeme Kullanımı

Abstract

Mimari bir tasarımın hayat bulmasındaki en temel öğelerden biri olan malzemenin çeşitliliğinde günümüzde büyük bir artış gözlemlenmektedir. Mimarların bu geniş malzeme yelpazesinden seçim yaparken dikkat etmesi gereken bazı kriterler bulunmaktadır. Ekolojik, ekonomik, teknik niteliklerinin yanında algısal özellikleri de malzeme seçiminde önem verilmesi gereken konulardandır. Bina kullanıcıları içinde bulundukları yapının fiziksel koşullarından mekanı aktif kullanma süreleri boyunca etkilenmektedir. Yaşamlarının büyük bir bölümünü eğitim mekânlarında geçiren öğrencilerin, içinde bulundukları yapılı çevreden oldukça fazla etkilendiği söylenebilir. Bu kapsamda, kullanıcı üzerinde de önemli etkileri olan eğitim kurumlarının yapım malzemenin seçimine hassasiyet gösterilip, çevreye en az zararı olan, doğal kaynaklı ürünler tercih edilmelidir. Bu noktada ahşap malzeme en iyi seçeneklerden biri olarak tasarımcıların karşısına çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada, eğitim yapılarında ahşap malzeme kullanımının sunduğu imkanlar dört farklı kademedeki (okul öncesi, ilköğretim, lise, yükseköğretim) eğitim kurumu örnekleri üzerinden ele alınıp irdelenmiştir. Her bir eğitim seviyesinden 4’er, toplamda 16 örnekten elde edilen dokümanlarla ahşap kullanımı; yapısal eleman (çatı, kolon, duvar vb.), yüzey kaplama malzemesi (dış-iç mekan) ve donatı (iç-dış mekan) olarak üç ana başlık altında incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda ulaşılan bilgilere göre eğitim yapılarında ahşap malzeme kullanımı, iç mekandan dış mekana, yapısal elemanlardan donatılara oldukça çeşitlilik gösterdiği saptanmıştır.
