OECD Ülkelerinin Kişi Başına Düşen GSYİH Payları İle Olimpiyatlardaki Sportif Başarıları Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract
Ülkeler için olimpiyatlarda başarı genellikle ulusal gurur ve prestijin bir göstergesi olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bir ülkenin olimpiyatlarda başarılı olması, genellikle spor altyapısının gücünü, sporcuların yeteneklerini ve ülkenin sporculara verdiği destek ve teşvikleri yansıtmaktadır. Bu çalışmada OECD ülkelerinin olimpiyat oyunlarındaki başarıları ile GSYİH payları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Buna göre OECD ülkelerinin olimpiyat oyunlarındaki başarıları madalya sayıları ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Bu nedenle alınan madalya sayıları ile GSYİH payları arasındaki ilişki araştırılmış ve çalışmanın önemi ortaya konmuştur. Bu kapsamda bağımsız değişken olarak GSYİH payları, bağımlı değişken olarak ise ülkelerin elde etmiş oldukları madalya sayıları baz alınmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular korelasyon analizi ile %95 güven aralığında incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızın sonuçlarına göre daha yüksek GSYİH payına sahip olan ülkelerin Olimpik başarılarının daha fazla olduğu görülmüş ve buna göre iki değişken arasında doğrudan bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
