Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 184 - 188, 29.06.2021

Abstract

Abstract
Colonoscopy is an important procedure in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal diseases. The success of this procedure is directly related to the sufficient bowel preparation before colonoscopy. It is stated that in cases where the colonoscopy preparation of the patients is insufficient, less polyps are detected or the procedure is canceled. In addition, insufficient preparation for colonoscopy may cause repetition of the procedure and loss of labor, time and cost for the patient and healthcare personnel. In this review based on the literature, preparation for colonoscopy and patient requirements are included.
