COVID-19 Sürecinin Su Ayak İzine Etkisinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Yeni tip Koronavirüsün (SARS-CoV-2) neden olduğu COVID-19 pandemisi ile dünya genelinde mücadele sürmektedir. COVID-19 pandemisi ile birlikte günlük alışkanlıklarımız, aktivitelerimiz ve yaşam tarzlarımızda pek çok değişiklikler meydana gelmiştir. Pandeminin bulaş riskini azaltmak için başta el hijyeni olmak üzere kişisel hijyenimize özen göstermemiz gerekmektedir. Bunun sonucunda ise tüketilecek su ihtiyacında artış olmaktadır. Su tüketiminin artması ile birlikte su sıkıntısı çekmeye başlayan ülkemizde su kaynaklarının doğru yönetilmesine ihtiyaç vardır. Su kaynaklarının ve su tüketiminin yönetiminin doğru planlanması su ayak izi ile olabilmektedir. Su ayak izi ile birlikte var olan su kaynaklarının kontrollü bir şekilde yönetilmesi ve hatta su tasarrufu yapılabilmektedir. Bu kapsamda çalışmada COVID-19 pandemisinin su ayak izine olan etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada katılımcıların pandemi öncesi ve pandemi sırasında su tüketimleri kıyaslanarak su ayak izi hesaplamaları yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bilgiler ışığında pandeminin neden olduğu su tüketim artışının farkı ortaya konarak su tüketimi ile ilgili katılımcıların bilinçlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Evaluation of the Impact of the COVID-19 Process on the Water Footprint

Abstract

The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the new type of Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) continues around the world. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many changes have occurred in our daily habits, activities, and lifestyles. In order to reduce the risk of transmission of the pandemic, we need to take care of our personal hygiene, especially hand hygiene. As a result, there is an increase in the need for water to be consumed. There is a need for the correct management of water resources in our country, which has started to suffer from water shortages with the increase in water consumption. The correct planning of the management of water resources and water consumption can be achieved with a water footprint. With the water footprint, the existing water resources can be managed in a controlled manner and even water savings can be made. In this context, the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the water footprint was investigated in this study. In the study, water footprint calculations were made by comparing the water consumption of the participants before and during the pandemic.In light of the information obtained, it aimed to raise the participants' awareness about water consumption by revealing the difference in the increase in water consumption caused by the pandemic.
