In this study, male and female students, who are at the first grade of primary school, are analysed in point of their spiritual self expression. And, in course of visual reading, their use of fictional elements and vocabulary is determined. The research is carried out by using case study which is a kind of qualitative research method. 5 female and 5 male students practice reading with target visuals and their speeches are transferred to written texts with audio recording. As a result of this study, it is observed that students blend these visuals with their own learnings on the basis of their past experiences and then transfer them with fictions of their imaginary world. Also, students attribute a meaning to the words in the text according to their social norms. No significant difference is observed in terms of male and female students` use of different words and the total number of words they use.
