Urinary Stone Disease: Metabolic Evaluation at a Glance

Abstract

Urinary stone disease (USD) is major health problem due to its high prevalence. Considering the recurrence of half

of the patients following surgical treatment, it is even bigger health issue than is thought. In this article, screening of

USD patients, evaluation following treatment, administration of diet and/or medical treatment and the follow up of

patients are summarized.

Abstract

Üriner sistem taş hastalığı (ÜSTH) yüksek prevalansı nedeniyle önemli bir sağlık sorunudur. Cerrahi tedavi sonrası

hastaların yarısının nüks ettiği göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, bu sorununun aslında zannedildiğinden daha da

büyük olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bu yazıda, ÜSTH tanısı almış olan hastaların nasıl taranması, tedavi sonrası hangi

yöntemlerle değerlendirilmesi, hangi hasta gruplarına diyet ve hangilerine medikal tedavi veya kombinasyonunun

önerilmesi ve bu hastaların nasıl takip edilmesi gerektiği bir bakışta sunulmaktadır.
