Apiterapi ve İnsan Sağlığı Üzerine Etkileri

Abstract

Tüm kültürlerde insan sağlığı için geleneksel ve alternatif tıp uygulamaları kullanılmaktadır. Bu uygulamalardan biri de apiterapidir. Günümüzde hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılan farmasötik ürünlerin meydana getirdikleri olumsuz etkiler, toksik olmayan, stabil, ucuz, yan ürünler üretmeyen, kolay bulunabilir ve elde edilebilir alternatif doğal tedavilere olan ihtiyacın ortaya çıkmasını sağlamıştır. Apiterapi, bal, polen, arısütü, propolis, arı zehiri gibi arı ürünleriyle yapılan doğal bir tedavi yöntemidir. Başta bal olmak üzere arı ürünleri, yüzyıllardır halk arasında birçok hastalığın tedavi edil-mesi amacıyla kullanılmaktadır. Bal, yaralarda inflamasyon ve ödemi azaltmaktadır. Oral olarak alınan balın immun sistemi aktive ettiği, kanser ve metastaza karşı koruyucu olduğu ve antimikrobiyal, antioksidan özellik gösterdiği bilin-mektedir. Balın yanı sıra polen ve arı sütü de besin değerlerinin yüksekliği, içerdikleri protein, mineral, vitamin, serbest aminoasitler ve antibakteriyel, antifungal ve antioksidan özellikleri nedeniyle apiterapide sıklıkla kullanılan ürünlerdir. Propolis birçok ilacın içeriğinde yer almaktadır. Antibakteriyel, antioksidan ve antikanser etkileri kanıtlanmıştır. Propoliste bulunan krizin ve kampferol temel antialerjik bileşenlerdir. Arı zehri ise başta romatizma olmak üzere multiple skleroz (MS) ve romatoid artrit olgularında ayrıca egzama, epilepsi, migren gibi birçok hastalığın tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada apiterapi ve bazı arı ürünleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve bu ürünlerin insan sağlığı üzerine etkileri derlenmiştir.
