Analysis of Financial Performance Studies in Hospital Enterprises through the Science Mapping Techniques

Abstract

The aim of this study is to systematically analyze the studies on financial performance, which is one of the performance measurement tools in hospitals, according to the science mapping technique. For this purpose, Web of Science, Scopus, and Pubmed databases were searched. In addition, using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Carrot Search software, results were clustered on the basis of authors, institutions, countries, and journals through a more in-depth bibliometric study. As a result of the research, it is seen that the country that contributed the most to this field was the USA, and that contributed the most is Goes and Zhan with 63 citations. In addition, the most preferred keywords in this field are "financial performance" in CiteSpace analysis; "financial performance" in VOSviewer analysis and "improvement" in Carrot Analysis. This study is a guide for researchers who are interested in the field of financial performance in hospital businesses. In addition, since a comprehensive search strategy is used, it differs from similar studies in this aspect.

Hastane İşletmelerinde Finansal Performans Çalışmalarının Bilim Haritalama Tekniğiyle Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, hastanelerde performans ölçüm araçlarından biri olan finansal performans konusunda yapılan çalışmaların bilim haritalama tekniğine göre sistematik olarak analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Web of Science, Scopus ve Pubmed veri tabanları taranmıştır. Ayrıca VOSviewer, CiteSpace ve Carrot Search yazılımları kullanılarak daha derinlemesine bibliyometrik çalışma aracılığıyla sonuçların yazarlar, kurumlar, ülkeler ve dergiler bazında kümelenmesi sağlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda bu alana en fazla katkı sağlayan ülkenin ABD, en fazla katkı sağlayan ise 63 atıfla Goes ve Zhan olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca bu alanda en çok tercih edilen anahtar kelimeler CiteSpace analizinde "finansal performans"; VOSviewer analizinde “finansal performans” ve Carrot analizinde “iyileştirme” olarak bulunmuştur. Bu çalışma hastane işletmelerinde finansal performans alanına ilgisi olan araştırmacılar için bir rehber niteliği taşımaktadır. Ayrıca kapsamlı bir arama stratejisi kullanıldığından bu yönüyle benzer çalışmalardan farklılık göstermektedir.
