A Critical Feminist Therapy Perpsective on Psychological Help for Women

Abstract

In this article, psychological services provided for women with psychological problems, who applied to get help from mental health center, is criticized from a feminist therapy perspective. This criticism is built on the analysis of Ayşe ’s story who was admitted to the psychiatry clinic and women counseling center, with intense psychological problems due to a history of multiple violence and. In this article, Ayşe's case was presented, after a brief introduction of the psychological effects of violence, and then diagnosis and treatment method used in Ayşe's case which was grounded in the mainstream psychotherapy theories. Later, a critical evaluation of the biomedical diagnosis and treatment method and mainstream applications of psychotherapy is carried out from a feminist therapy perspective. In addition, the feminist therapy-based intervention method is proposed for women’s psychological problems

Kadınlara sunulan psikolojik yardım hizmetlerine feminist terapi perspektifinden eleştirel bir bakış

Abstract

Bu makalede, Türkiye’de ruh sağlığı sorunları yaşayan ve yardım almak amacıyla ruh sağlığı merkezlerine başvuran kadınlara verilen psikolojik yardım hizmetleri, feminist terapi perspektifinden eleştirilmiştir. Eleştiri, çoklu şiddet öyküsü olan ve yoğun psikolojik problemleri nedeniyle önce psikiyatri polikliniğine sonrada kadın danışma merkezine başvuran Ayşe kod adlı kadının hikâyesinin analizi üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Makalede şiddet ve psikolojik etkileri üzerine kısa bir girişi takiben vaka sunumu yapılmış, ardından Ayşe’ye uygulanan tanı koyma ve tedavi yöntemi ana akım psikoterapi kuramları çerçevesinde kavramsallaştırılmıştır.Daha sonrada Ayşe’ye uygulanan biyomedikal temelli tanı alma ve tedavi sürecine ve ana akım psikoterapi uygulamalarına yönelik feminist terapi perspektifinden eleştirel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Ayrıca kadınların psikolojik problemlerinin çözümüne ilişkin feminist terapi temelli bir müdahale önerisi getirilmiştir
