Gelişmiş Bitkilerde Nikel Elementinin Fizyolojik Fonksiyonları ve Nikel Toksisitesi

Abstract
Nikel bitkiler için bir mikroelementtir ve bitkilerde düşük konsantrasyonlarda birçok önemli role sahiptir. Nikel birçok metaloenzimin aktif bölgesinin bir bileşenidir. Sonuç olarak nikel eksikliği; büyümenin indirgenmesi, senesens ve yaprak klorosisinin indüksiyonu, azot metabolizmasında değişiklikler ve demir alınımı ile süperoksit radikalinin detoksifikasyonunda indirgenme gibi etkilere sebep olur. Nikel bitkiler için fizyolojik olarak önemli olmasına rağmen, yüksek konsantrasyonlarda birçok bitki için toksiktir. Nikel toksisitesinin semptomları arasında tohum çimlenmesi, fotosentez ve transpirasyonun inhibisyonu, mineral madde alınımı ve mitotik aktivitede bozukluklar ve farklı bitki organlarında hücresel değişimler sayılabilir. Bu derlemede, nikelin doğada bulunuşu ve kontaminasyonu ile fizyolojik rolü ve nikel toksisitesinin bitkilerdeki etkileri tartışılmıştır.
