Born in Adana in 1983, Ferhat Uçar embarked on his professional journey in various roles, including software sales engineer, automation engineer, and project engineer in international companies across regions like Adana, Gaziantep, Mersin, and İskenderun. After obtaining his bachelor's degree, Uçar entered the academic sphere in 2009, culminating in a Ph.D. in machine learning from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Fırat University in 2018.
Currently, Uçar is a faculty member at the Software Engineering Department of Fırat University's Technology Faculty. He teaches computer science courses in English under the international dual-degree program established in collaboration with Sam Houston State University. Uçar also holds the position of chief editor for journals including "The Turkish Journal of Science & Technology", "Fırat Üniversitesi Mühendislik Bilimleri", and "Fırat Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri" housed under Dergipark. On the administrative side, he serves as the deputy director at Fırat University's Institute of Science.
In the research domain, Uçar has been an active reviewer for prestigious platforms such as IEEE, Elsevier, Wiley, Taylor and Francis, and Nature. He is involved in ongoing TÜBİTAK projects and also contributes as a researcher in a COST action project. Furthermore, Uçar is part of the project management team for Code23 Fırat Software Workshop, one of Fırat University's highest-budgeted projects, where he mentors in mobile app development.
