Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the healthy lifestyle behaviors of physical education and sports teachers in terms of various variables. In the study, the healthy lifestyle behaviors of physical education and sports teachers were examined in terms of variables of gender, age, marital status, professional seniority, type of school and grade, and also the relationship between teachers' body mass index and healthy lifestyle behaviors. The study population of the research, which is carried out according to the survey model, one of the quantitative approaches, consists of 361 physical education and sports teachers working in Ankara in the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. The data of the study were collected using the "Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale". In the analysis of the data, independent samples t test was used for paired comparisons and one-way ANOVA analysis of variance was used for multiple comparisons. In addition, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was used to examine the relationship between physical education and sport teachers' body mass index and healthy lifestyle behaviors. As a result of the study, it was found that physical education teachers' healthy lifestyle behavior scores differ significantly according to gender, age and marital status variables; that there was no difference according to professional seniority, type of school and grade. It can be said that there is no significant relationship between physical education and sport teachers' body mass index and healthy lifestyle behavior scores.
