The purpose of this study is to examine the conception and knowledge of 8th grade students about cultural and historical values in Nazilli in which they are still living. The research has been made in descriptive scanning model. In research, the survey which was prepared by the researcher has been used as data collection tool. The survey was applied to 276 students in 8th grade in 5 different schools of Nazilli. SPSS 18 statistical software was used in the analysis of collected data. In the solution of the problems and sub-problematical areas, descriptive statistics, independent samples T-test, one way variance analysis (ANOVA),Mann Whitney U-Test for independent samples and Kruskal Wallis H-Test for independent samples were used. According to the results of the research, 8 th grade students' have generally a positive attitude towards to cultural and historical values of Nazilli. The students’ family education level, monthly average family income and the gender of students do not affect the conception and knowledge about cultural and historical values. It was concluded that 8th grade students' conception and knowledge about Nazilli's cultural and historical values differ meaningfully in favor of the state school in terms of school type. The result of the research when we examine the result, the rate of the correct answers of knowledge questions is %46, 43 over the 8th grade students, and it was found out that the rate of students who answered correctly to knowledge questions in public school was higher than students in private school.
