Abstract
The tradition; which started with leaving the brick surfaces out; later enabled the use of bricks on the facades as ornamental element by vitrifying the surfaces of the bricks. The first examples of its use are possible to be seen on Early Period of Beyliks and Anatolian Seljukians. While the first examples, which were produced by leaving the brick out, were brick weaves; the examples seen on the later periods were brick coatings. These different weave methods caused the creation of different ornamental arrangements. One of the methods; which was used to specify the rules of the weaves, which were created by depending on a certain rule strings, is shape grammar method. Within this study; it is also aimed to analyze the brick weaves, which re-defined the facade arrangement; with form grammar method. Hence; it was aimed to define the brick facade arrangements which are specific for Anatolia.
