ABSTRACT
Engineering studies for the repair, strengthening, and retrofitting of a reinforced-concrete (RC) building, which experienced considerable structural damage due to the 1999 Marmara Earthquake, are performed in accordance with the pertinent and recent regulations, codes, and modern developments in analysis and application techniques. The lateral displacements incurred by the transverse dynamic loading of the critical future earthquakes are confined by increasing the rigidity of the structure with jacketting some RC columns and introducing extra RC shear walls. The general results obtained from this study were reported.
Key Words: Repair of RC buildings, jacketing, strengthening, concrete strength.
