Abstract

Sustainability is a concept that has wide range of application area nowadays. In addition to the setting of economic development targets for a more livable world, countries also produce social and environmental projects for the use of renewable resources and for a more livable world. In the leading sectors such as logistics, the concept of sustainability is important. It is known in the literature that the multicriteria decision making methods are used for sustainability and performance measurements of logistics companies. The purpose of this study is to rank the top 5 countries (Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Japan) in the 2018 logistics performance index ranking according to sustainable development criteria. Entropy and EDAS methods were applied to the criteria determined by the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, and the rankings of the countries were determined. Sweden ranks first in terms of sustainable development. Germany, Austria and Belgium take the 2nd, 3rd and the 4th place. The 5th country in the ranking is Japan. Although the five countries are located in different continents or regions, and have different geographical and cultural structures, they are among the leading countries in the logistics sector and among the developed countries investing in projects related to sustainable development

Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Açısından Lojistik Performans Endeksine Göre Seçilen Ülkelerin Entropi Temeline Dayalı Edas Yöntemi ile Değerlendirmesi

Abstract

Sürdürülebilirlik günümüzde geniş uygulama alanı olan bir kavramdır. Ülkeler daha yaşanılabilir bir dünya için ekonomik gelişme hedeflerinin yanında yenilenebilir kaynakların en verimli şekilde kullanıldığı sağlık, eğitim gibi pek çok alanda refah düzeyini arttıracak sosyal ve çevre boyutlarında da projeler üretmektedir. Özellikle lojistik gibi önde gelen sektörlerde sürdürülebilirlik kavramı önemlidir. Literatürde sürdürülebilirlik ve lojistik firmalarına ait performans ölçümleri için çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinin kullanıldığı bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 2018 yılı lojistik performans endeksi sıralamasında önde gelen ilk 5 ülkenin (Almanya, İsveç, Belçika, Avusturya, Japonya), sürdürülebilir kalkınma kriterlerine göre sıralanmasıdır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın ekonomik, sosyal ve çevre boyutlarında belirlenen kriterlerine Entropi ve EDAS yöntemleri uygulanmış ve ülkelerin sıralamaları belirlenmiştir. İsveç sürdürülebilir kalkınma açısından ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Almanya, Avusturya ve Belçika 2., ,3. ve 4. sıradadır. Sıralamada 5. sırada bulunan ülke ise Japonya’dır. İncelenen 5 ülke farklı kıta ya da bölgelerde yer alan, farklı coğrafi ve kültürel yapıya sahip ülkeler olmakla birlikte lojistik sektöründe önde gelen ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma ile ilgili projelere yatırımlar yapan gelişmiş ülkeler arasındadır.
