Year 2024, Volume: 11 Issue: 3, 193 - 200, 28.10.2024
https://doi.org/10.31125/hunhemsire.1439104

Abstract

Year 2024, Volume: 11 Issue: 3, 193 - 200, 28.10.2024

Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study was to conduct bibliometric and visualization analysis of publications on lifestyle behaviors in infertility and to examine the most discussed lifestyle behaviors by popular countries, organizations, journals and researchers on this subject.
Material and Methods: The study was based on bibliometric data of the works published in peer-reviewed journals indexed in the Web of Science database between 2014 and 2023 using the VOSviewer program.
Results: It was found that 2520 works on “infertility” and “fertility” were written in 2022 and 2018, with the most in 2021; the most works were written by Chavarro JE, Williams PL and Hauser R, respectively. The leading institutions in this field were Harvard University, the American National Institute of Health, and Harvard Medical School. The majority of studies were conducted in the United States, followed by China and England. The most frequently used keywords in the publications “infertility” appears 456 times, “fertility” 234 times, “in vitro fertilization” 173 times, and “pregnancy” 162 times. In the category of lifestyle behaviors, words related to weight (37.0%), psychological state (27.0%), and dietary supplements (11.0%) were prominent at the top.
Conclusions: It was found that after the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of publications on lifestyle behaviors including mental health increased, the most discussed lifestyle behavior was body weight, and popular topics on this subject included sexual function, preconceptional care, hopelessness and mobile applications.
