Abstract
Bu çalışmada Sağlık Bakanlığı’na bağlı 30 ve daha fazla yatağa sahip olan toplam 514 kamu hastanesinin seçilmiş örgütsel ve finansal performans göstergeleri bakımından kümelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Hastanelerin kümelenmesinde Expectation Maximization kümeleme algoritmasından yararlanılmıştır. Optimal küme sayısının belirlenmesinde 10 katlı çapraz geçerlilik yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda hastanelerin 6 farklı kümede toplandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Hastanelerin örgütsel değişkenler bakımından kümelenmesinde belirleyici olan faktörün hastanelerin bir genel hastane olup olmama durumlarının olduğu ve finansal değişkenler bakımından iyi durumda olan hastanelerin daha çok orta büyüklükteki hastanelerden oluştukları ve bu hastanelerin belirli bir kümede toplandıkları görülmüştür. Araştırma bulgularına göre hastanelerin türü ve büyüklüğü, finansal performans göstergeleri açısından yapılan değerlendirmelerde dikkate alınması gereken temel özelliklerdir. Araştırma sonuçları her geçen gün artan kaynak sınırlılığı sorunu ile karşı karşıya olan profesyonel hastane yöneticilerinin kaynaklarını etkin yönetebilmeleri için faydalı bilgiler sunmaktadır.
