Lojistik Performansın Sürdürülebilir Ticaret Üzerindeki Etkisi

Abstract

Küreselleşme ve artan rekabet, başarılı bir ticaret için lojistik faaliyetlerini önemli hale getirmiştir. Nitekim literatürdeki çok sayıda çalışma, lojistik performansın sınır ötesi ticarette anlamlı bir şekilde etkili olduğuna işaret etmektedir. Bu çalışmada lojistiğin, sürdürülebilir ticaret üzerindeki rolüne odaklanılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma ile amaçlanan, lojistik performansın sürdürülebilir ticaret üzerindeki etkisini ölçmek ve elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda politika önerisinde bulunmaktır. İlgili literatürde yer alan araştırmalar incelendiğinde söz konusu bu çalışmanın şu iki yönden ayrıştığı görülmektedir: Birincisi, lojistik performansın ticaret üzerindeki etkisini “sürdürülebilir ticaret” persfektifinden ele alması ve ikincisi, Sürdürülebilir Ticaret Endeksi (STE) değişkenini kullanmasıdır. Çalışma bu açıdan önemlidir ve bu bağlamda literatüre anlamlı bir katkı oluşturması hedeflenmektedir.Analiz için Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli (YEM) tercih edilmişir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre, lojistik performansın sürdürülebilir ticaret üzerindeki etkisi güçlü ve pozitiftir. Çalışma sonuçları itibariyle, lojistik faaliyetlerin, ticaretin sürdürülebilirliğindeki önemini vurgulamakta ve bu anlamda politika yapıcılara bir ışık tutmaktadır. Nitekim lojistiğin sürdürülebilir ticareti teşvik edici yönü, özellikle çevre dostu lojistik uygulamalar ve politikalar ile kendini göstermektedir. Bu nedenle ülkelerin karbon emisyonlarını azaltan çevre dostu bir lojistik yönetimi benimsemeleri oldukça önemlidir.

Impact of Logistics Performance on Sustainable Trade

Abstract

Globalization and increasing competition have made logistics activities important for successful trade. Indeed, numerous studies in the literature indicate that logistics performance has a significant impact on cross-border trade. This study focuses on the role of logistics on sustainable trade. In this context, the aim of the study is to measure the impact of logistics performance on sustainable trade and to make policy recommendations in line with the findings. When the studies in the relevant literature are examined, it is seen that this study differs in two aspects: First, it addresses the impact of logistics performance on trade from the perspective of “sustainable trade” and second, it uses the Sustainable Trade Index (STE) variable. The study is important in this respect and aims to make a meaningful contribution to the literature in this context.The Structural Equation Model (SEM) has been preferred for the analysis. According to the analysis results, the impact of logistics performance on sustainable trade is strong and positive. The study results emphasize the importance of logistics activities in the sustainability of trade and shed light on policy makers in this sense. Indeed, the sustainable trade-encouraging aspect of logistics is particularly evident through environmentally friendly logistics practices and policies. Therefore, it is very important for countries to adopt an environmentally friendly logistics management that reduces carbon emissions.
