Abstract
This study deals with the view of Tirmidhi, who lived in the third century of the hijra, known as the golden age of hadith history, to Hanafi thought and people. This idea was criticized in the works of Tirmidhi, who inhaled the negative atmosphere against the Hanafis with the Mihna process. Although Tirmidhi's work contains jurisprudence and conflicts, the view of Hanafis is generally counted among the people of Kufa. Among these people, Ibn al-Mubarak and Vekî b. al-Cerrah While the opinions of names such as were given, the narrations criticizing Hanafis also came from these people. Although Tirmidhi had the opinion of the Hanafis in the places where he objected to the people of hadith, he did not say that they reached this conclusion by acting on the narration. Especially affected by the mihne process, The fact that he received knowledge from scholars such as, Ahmed b. Hanbal, Humaydi or Bukhari caused him to behave in this way. However, the fact that Tirmidhi had narrators among his teachers who had connections with Hanafis, or that Hanafi fiqh reached this culture with written sources during the period when Hanafi fiqh was active in the Islamic world prevents us from separating these two ideas with clear lines. In fact, when we look at the objections of his teachers, Tirmidhi's objections are less, while some of them belong to Tirmidhi, while others consist of narrations transmitted before him.
