NEW MANAGEMENT PARADIGMS IN THE LIGHT OF GLOBAL CHANGES IN THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC

Abstract

The aim of this study is to draw attention to global changes and dynamics that Turkey is subject to with other nations. Turkey, celebrating the 100. anniversary of its foundation is facing rapid and radical change. These changes and conditions are directly or indirectly influencing all nations including Turkey. Human mobility, pandemics, natural disasters, climate change, wars, deceleration in energy resources and Industry 4.0 are among them. These dynamics have political, economic, social and organizational effects on the country. The current study presents these environmental forces and the new management paradigms that are offered by the literature to overcome their effects. First, these forces and the global context is summarized, then the new managerial perspectives, leadership styles, manager and employee competencies and qualifications are discussed. The study will humbly contribute the field of management by presenting these new management paradigms and providing a holistic perspective. These new management paradigms can well be utilized in building the future of Turkey.

CUMHURİYETİN 100. YILINDA KÜRESEL DEĞİŞİMLER IŞIĞINDA YENİ YÖNETİM PARADİGMALARI

Abstract

Bu çalışma 29 Ekim 2023 tarihinde 100. Yaşını kutlayacak olan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin içinde bulunduğu küresel değişikliklere ve dinamiklere dikkat çekmek amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Türkiye, tüm dünya ülkelerinde olduğu gibi hızlı ve radikal bir değişim süreci ile karşı karşıyadır. Söz konusu değişim ve dönüşümler Türkiye’ye özgü olmamakla birlikte bu süreçten kaçınmak mümkün görünmemektedir. Küresel bir sorun olan insan hareketliliği, ülkeler arasındaki savaşlar, savaşlara ve daha iyi yaşam umuduna bağlı göçler, salgınlar, doğal afetler, iklim değişiklikleri, enerji kaynaklarında yaşanan talep artışı, teknolojik ilerlemeler ve buluşlar Türkiye’yi doğrudan ve/veya dolaylı olarak etkilemektedir. Başka bir deyişle söz konusu dinamiklerin hepsi ülkenin siyasi, ekonomik, sosyal ve örgütsel yaşamına etki etmektedir. Bu çalışmada yukarıda ifade edilen değişimler ekseninde Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren kurum ve kuruluşların uyum sağlaması gereken yeni yönetim paradigmaları neden-sonuç eşliğinde okuyucuya sunulmaktadır. Başka bir deyişle Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin 100. Yaşında içinde bulunduğu küresel bağlam özetlenmekte ve sonrasında söz konusu bağlama yönelik olarak örgütsel yapılarda geliştirilmesi gereken yeni bakış açıları, liderlik stilleri, yönetici-çalışan yetkinlikleri ve nitelikleri detaylı olarak tartışılmaktadır. Çalışmanın, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin geleceğini inşa edecek örgütsel sistemlere sunduğu holistik bakış açısı ve öneriler nedeniyle yönetim alanına katkı vereceği düşünülmektedir.
