DENTAL TREATMENT APPROACH IN A PATIENT WITH SJÖGREN'S SYNDROME: A CASE REPORT

Abstract

Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by dry eyes and decreased salivary secretion as a result of the destruction of the exocrine glands due to lymphocytic infiltration. There are primary and secondary forms. In this case report, it is aimed to describe the oral symptoms in a patient with Secondary Sjögren's Syndrome (SS) seen together with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and the rehabilitation of this patient's extensive dental caries with direct composite resin.

SJÖGREN SENDROMLU HASTADA DENTAL TEDAVİ YAKLAŞIMI: OLGU SUNUMU

Abstract

Sjögren sendromu (SS) ekzokrin salgı bezlerinde, lenfositik infiltrasyona bağlı yıkım sonucunda özellikle göz kuruluğu ve tükürük salgısının azalmasıyla karakterize, sistemik otoimmün bir hastalıktır. Primer ve sekonder formları vardır. Bu olgu sunumunda Romatoid Artrit(RA) ile birlkte görülen Sekonder Sjögren Sendromu (SS) olan bir hastada oral bulguların ve yaygın diş çürüklerinin direkt kompozit rezin ile rehabilitasyonunun anlatılması amaçlanmıştır.
