The subject of the work is poetry in Arabs: Human in oral culture, visual and written culture. Its problem is the universality of the Qur’ān and the religion of Islām, which has been revealed to Arabs who have a oral tradition and advanced literature. Looking at modern cultural and communication studies, it is stated that people of oral culture are more backward than people of written and visual culture, their abstract thoughts do not develop, their inner world does not deepen, their individuality is weak, they do not have critical thinking, and they are closed and conservative. Looking at the history of Islām, the opposite situation is encountered. Because Jahiliyya (Pre-Islāmic) Arabs have an oral culture, but are not backward from other written societies according to their period; on the contrary, they are the most advanced societies in the world in literature. Muhammad, the prophet of the last religion (PBUH) is also illiterate. But the religion he brought has guided many people in the past, as well as today it guides people with written, visual and digital culture. Culture and civilization are constantly changing. The revolution created by visual and written culture, as claimed in communication studies, is also not new. There has been writing since unknown periods of history; there is also visual culture. People have written, read and created images such as cave paintings, sculptures and icons since the earliest times, and they have also read them visually. The aim of the present study is to explain the universality of the Qur’ān, which has been revealed to Arabs who had a visual culture; its importance is to explain that Arab poetry appeals not only to oral culture, but also to visual, written, digital and new cultures that will develop. In the study, the qualitative method was selected and the document examination technique was applied. Works about oral culture, visual and written culture were discussed; Islāmic sources about language and statement were addressed.
