Abstract
Due to the recent increase in pediatric Covid-19 patients, it is important to establish diagnostic and treatment criteria for pediatric patients. In this study, we aimed to contribute to the formation of the diagnosis and treatment criteria for Covid-19 in children by evaluating the diagnosis, treatment and laboratory findings of our pediatric patients who were diagnosed with Covid-19 after hospital admission. 220 cases in the pediatric age group who were diagnosed with Covid-19 and treated as outpatients or inpatients after applying to the emergency service and polyclinic during the pandemic were included in this study. Of the patients, 142 (64.5%) were male and 18 (8.1%) had chronic disease. The ages of the patients ranged from 7 to 17, with a mean age of 13.4±2.26 years. As the result of the evaluation of clinical and laboratory findings, 38 children were treated after hospitalization. Classification of cases for the diagnosis and treatment of Covid-19 infection, and treatment and follow-up according to this classification are important in terms of preventing mortality and complications.
