Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to determine the trends of studies on physical activity in children according to various variables in Turkey. In the research, descriptive scanning model and content analysis method have been used. The sample of the research consists of 90 master's, doctoral and medical specialization theses, which can be accessed from the website of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education. According to the obtained findings of the research, it has been determined that postgraduate theses on physical activity in children have mostly been made between 2017-2022, the number of theses had a tendency to increase over the years, and the majority of theses were in the postgraduate type. An increase according to years has been obtained in the studies about physical activity in children. However, it has been observed that the level of evidence in general of theses published on this subject is low, descriptive and comparative studies are more common, and applied studies on increasing the amount and intensity of physical activity are limited. It is suggested that, as well as revealing the current situation, future studies should aim on solving problems, educating individuals and their families, developing their programs and raise awareness in the society.
