In the research, it is aimed to determine the opinions of the lecturers in the institutions that train music teachers about the Kodály approach and applications. The research is a qualitative research and was carried out using the Holistic Single Case Design, one of the case study designs. The study group of the research is a total of 13 lecturers, 5 from Northern Cyprus and 8 from Turkey, who work in the Music Teaching Departments of 28 universities in Northern Cyprus and Turkey and teach about the Kodály approach. As a data collection tool in the research, a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers was used. The questions in the interview form consist of five parts and 21 questions. The data obtained from the participants were analyzed using the content analysis method, one of the qualitative data analysis methods. As a result of the research, it is understood that the instructors have improved themselves for the courses they conduct about the Kodály approach and include the Kodály approach and applications in their lessons. In addition, it is understood with the opinions of the participants that the Kodály approach is suitable and necessary to be used in our music education, and that this approach should be adapted to our music education by using the Kodály philosophy and teaching materials.

Araştırmada müzik öğretmeni yetiştiren kurumlardaki öğretim görevlilerinin Kodály yaklaşımı ve uygulamaları ile ilgili görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, nitel bir araştırma olup, durum çalışması desenlerinden Bütüncül Tek Durum Deseni kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Kuzey Kıbrıs ve Türkiye’deki 28 üniversitenin Müzik Öğretmenliği Bölümlerinde görev yapan ve Kodály yaklaşımı ile ilgili ders veren 5’i Kuzey Kıbrıs, 8’i Türkiye’den toplam 13 öğretim görevlisidir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formundaki sorular beş bölümden ve 21 sorudan oluşmaktadır. Katılımcılardan elde edilen veriler ise nitel veri analizi yöntemlerinden içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, öğretim görevlilerinin Kodály yaklaşımı ile ilgili yürüttükleri dersler için kendilerini geliştirdikleri ve Kodály yaklaşımı ve uygulamalarına derslerinde yer verdikleri anlaşılmaktadır. Ayrıca katılımcı görüşleri ile Kodály yaklaşımının ülkemiz müzik eğitimi içerisinde kullanılmaya uygun ve gerekli bulunduğu, Kodály felsefesi ve öğretim materyalleri kullanılarak bu yaklaşımının ülkemiz müzik eğitimine adapte edilmesi gerektiği anlaşılmaktadır.

The International Journal of Social Sciences and Art Studies, which started its publication life in 2022 with its 1st issue, is an open access international academic journal subject to double refereeing process, which publishes twice a year, in January and July. Our journal covers the fields of history, sociology, psychology, philosophy, archeology, art history, behavioral sciences, linguistics, literature and fine arts, in which the relations of communication science with other disciplines are supported by new and original academic research that will contribute to the field from different perspectives. It publishes theoretical and/or applied original and compilation articles belonging to disciplines such as No fee is charged for the articles during the application and publication process.
Publication Process
All authors are regularly informed about the processes of the articles. The articles sent to the journal are directed to the field editors after the pre-evaluation process of the editorial board and sent to two referees who are experts in the field. Referee returns vary between 6-8 weeks. In line with the evaluation reports from the referees, it is decided to publish the article, request correction from the author or reject the article.
