The acquaintance between Turks and Arabs dates back to almost one thousand three hundred years ago. While there are approximately four hundred literary works translated from Arabic to Turkish, the number of literary translations from Turkish to Arabic is around three hundred and eighty. Many of these translations have been made by individual efforts. However, since 2005, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey has initiated a project called TEDA to promote the works published in Turkish-on-Turkish culture, art and literature abroad through translation. The project aimed to increase the international visibility of Turkey's literary wealth. In this study, literary translations from Turkish to Arabic between the years 2005-2020 within the scope of the TEDA project were examined from various perspectives. The most translated genres were novel, children's literature, history-research, respectively. Genres such as poetry, fairy tales, stories and short stories are almost never translated. A total of two hundred and twenty-four works were translated in a sixteen-year period; that more than ninety percent of these works were published in four Arab countries, not a single work was published in some Arab countries; those ten of the seventy-one translators translated more than half of these works.
