OXYURID INFECTION WITH COELOMIC EFFUSION IN A GREEN IGUANA (IGUANA IGUANA) The material of the present study was a 18-mounths old green iguana having anorexia and lethargy. Coelomic and throcal fluid determined by physical and radiological examinations and examples taken with punction. As a result it was determined that the green iguana had coelomic effusion. Owner mentioned that the iguana had mucus in feces. The iguana were subjected to fecal examination and Alaeuris sp. or Ozolamius sp. was detected. After the specific tratment for the diseases, health condition of the animal has improved.
ÖZET
Bu olgunun materyalini halsizlik ve iştahsızlık şikayeti ile kliniğimize getirilen 18 aylık bir iguana oluşturdu. Yapılan klinik muayene ve radyolojik incelemeler sonucunda toraks ve sölomda sıvı toplanması saptandı. Hastada yapılan aspirasyon biyopsisi sonucunda yapılan sitolojik incelemede peritonit olduğu tespit edildi. Diğer taraftan dışkısında mukus görülmesi şikayeti nedeniyle yapılan parazitolojik incelemede Pharyngodonidae ailesinden: Alaeuris sp. veya Ozolamius sp. cinslerinden herhangi birine ait parazit yumurtasının olduğu görüldü. Hastada yapılan bütün bu klinik, sitolojik ve parazitolojik incelemeler sonucunda peritonitis ve oxyuridis tanısı konularak iki hafta süreyle sistemik antibiyotik, diüretik ve antipatraziter ilaçlarla tedavi altına alındı. İki hafta sonraki yapılan kontrollerinde hastada belirgin bir düzelme saptandı.
