Background
This article evaluates the right endobronchial glomus tumor operated with sleeve resection using video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) with the literature.
In this article, we evaluated a case of glomus tumor developing in the isolated right main bronchus. We performed sleeve resection with video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), with the literature.
Case: A 46-year-old male patient with a cough going on for 4 months. Computed tomography of the thorax revealed an endobronchial mass of approximately 10 mm in the right main bronchus. After the biopsy result obtained by fiberoptic bronchoscopy was reported as a glomus tumor, the patient underwent right main bronchial sleeve resection with VATS. The patient was discharged on the fourth postoperative day without complications.
Conclusion
With the VATS approach, bronchial sleeve resections can be performed safely in accordance with oncological principles.
