Abstract
In this study, the financial performance effect of the Covid-19 epidemic process on the chain markets operating within the scope of BIST Retail Trade sector was examined. In this direction, within the scope of the study, five companies defined as chain markets from the sector defined as 'Retail Trade' in the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) traded in BIST were selected. Four of these firms are companies that have been penalized within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Competition Authority (RK). In the study, the data of these five companies were analyzed both as corporation comparative and sector comparative by using vertical analysis, trend analysis and ratio analysis techniques, which are evaluated within the scope of financial analysis techniques. When the net profit margin of the corporations is analyzed in comparison with the sector; It is seen that the sharp increase movement that occurred in the sector average in 2019 was not observed in the companies that were examined. The companies examined generally showed a positive performance in 2020, the beginning of the pandemic; In 2021, it has been determined that they are trying to protect this gain.
