Abstract

Year 2023, Volume: 7 Issue: 16, 373 - 389, 31.12.2023
https://doi.org/10.57135/jier.1252394

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of value education on students by applying the Value Consciousness Approach to bilingual Turkish students living in Germany. The study was carried out with eight values: sensitivity, honesty, aesthetics, tolerance, cooperation, respect, love, and responsibility. The study group of research consisted of 10 students in the 3rd and 4th grades. The study lasted for eight weeks and a single value was considered each week. In the study, a quasi-experimental method was used to determine the effect of the Value Consciousness application on students. Pre-test and post-test were used before and after the application to reveal the level of the students regarding the eight values determined. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test was used in the analysis of the data obtained in the study. As a result, it was determined that the techniques included in the application were effective on bilingual Turkish students.
