This meta-analysis examines the links between job satisfaction, organisational commitment and turnover intention. A search of Web of Science, Scopus and ProQuest identified 3,844 studies and three datasets consisting of 2,091, 2,091 and 2,783 participants. The analysis reveals that job satisfaction and organisational commitment strongly affect turnover intention. The negative relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention indicates that low job satisfaction increases turnover intention. The findings emphasise the importance of targeted initiatives to improve the retention and performance of correctional officers.
