COVID-19 respiratory failure management

Year 2020, Volume: 6 Issue: 3, 101 - 107, 30.09.2020

Abstract

2 months after the detection of the first Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) case in Wuhan, China, the first case was detected in our country on March 10, 2020. While the number of cases is increasing day by day, intensive care units are filled with patients who suffer from respiratory failure due to COVID-19. COVID-19 pandemic causes ARDS and multiorgan failure, requiring mechanical ventilator and 3rd step intensive care follow-up. For this reason, although there is no known effective treatment specific for the disease, supportive treatment which is provided in intensive care units are affects on mortality rates. In this review, our aim is to draw attention to the issues that need to be considered in the intensive care follow-up of people diagnosed with COVID-19.

COVİD-19 ve Solunum Yetmezliği Yönetimi

Year 2020, Volume: 6 Issue: 3, 101 - 107, 30.09.2020
