Relationship between demographic characteristic of employees and cyberloafing behavior

Abstract

Cyberloafing is a form of deviant behavior in working life which affect both employees goal and organizational goals. This study examines the relationship between demographic characteristic of employees and cyberloafing behavior in hotel businesses as measured objectively by time spent by individuals on non-work-related purposes. The data used in this paper was obtained via the questionnaire of cyberloafing behavior from employees in 5 and 4-star hotels within the Kemer, Beldibi, Çamyuva, Belek, Kundu, Antalya. SPSS 22.0 statistical program was used to analyze the data that includes three statistical tools (factor analysis, t-test and the one-way Anova). As a result, some demographic characteristic of employees and cyberloafing behaviour had statistically significant. Implications of the findings are discussed.

İşgörenlerin demografik özellikleri ve sanal kaytarma davranışı arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Sanal kaytarma çalışma
yaşamında hem işgören hem de örgütsel hedefleri etkileyen sapkın davranış
şekillerinden birisidir. Bu çalışma otel işletmelerinde işgörenlerin işle
ilgisi olmayan ve sanal kaytarma davranışları ile demografik özellikleri
arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma verileri Kemer,
Beldibi, Çamyuva, Belek, Kundu, Antalya’daki 5 ve 4 yıldızlı otellerdeki
işgörenlerden Sanal Kaytarma Ölçeği anket formu aracılığı ile toplanmıştır.
SPSS 22.0 ile analizi yapılan verilere faktör analizi, t testi ve tek yönlü
Anova uygulanmıştır. Sonuçta işgörenlerin bazı demografik özellikleri ile sanal
kaytarma davranışı arasında anlamlı ilişkinin olduğu belirlenmiş ve bulgular
tartışılmıştır.
